Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel

“Once Upon a Time…” there was a creative director of Chanel, who wanted to make a short film about the founder of the house. He kept on thinking who would be the most suitable for the part. Few leading ladies had an honor of playing Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, but Karl had his eyes (I mean sunglasses) set on Keira Knightley. I am a big fan of hers (it's a major girl crush to be honest) but taking into the account that Karl is behind the camera and it is his vision, the whole thing might be a bit weird, the story might not make a lot of sense after all, but Keira and other models can make up for it presenting beautiful clothes against amazing sets. I am going to see it no matter what. The film debuts May 8 at Chanel’s Cruise collection event in Singapore.

GAP - yay or nay?

OK, so GAP has a new creative director since October 2012 - Rebekka Bay, and new designs under her guidance won't land into stores until Spring 2014, but we have a little preview for now. To be honest since we have GAP in Warsaw I was a frequent visitor, but never bought anything more than a pair of knickers. The collection just didn't add up. I was always looking for a sleek, a bit sophisticated basics at GAP and I was disappointed every single time, anyway until now. This lookbook presents everything that I thought GAP represented (since my first visit to USA in 2006, and oh yeah, I remember the big poster with John Mayer in their store in NY) so hopefully we will see some of it in our Warsaw store (fingers crossed especially for the black-beige-pink coat!)

Tilda Swinton for W Magazine (again)

Once again editorial made by W Magazine features one and only Tilda Swinton. The previous one that I've posted over 2 years ago (Tilda for W) made Tilda look like she was from another planet. This one is also surreal, but in a different vibe, more disturbing if you will. She definitely posses the rare ability to draw attention by looking at you from pages of the magazine, while looking scary, weird and even ugly. And those penetrating eyes. That's what you call a real art.

The Great Gatsby

The highly-anticipated Baz Luhrmann film adaptation of The Great Gatsby will open the 66th Cannes Film Festival this year. It's enough to mention that I loved the book, but costumes are simply something to die for! When Miuccia Prada unveiled four sketches of her costumes it felt like Christmas. Later on when the first trailer arrived online I knew that the movie will be amazing, there's no question about it. Muccia's designs take the form of shimmering dresses, covered with crystals, fringing and sequins, in shades of emerald, jade, topaz and gold. Carey Mulligan was privileged enough to wear them all the time (yes, I officially hate her) and bits and pieces shown in the preview were unbelievable. Counting days till May people! - there's nothing better than roaming twenties on a big screen!

Oh Spring, Spring where are you Spring? - Wish I was wearing if there was Spring

I am trying everything to bring Spring to Warsaw, but nothing is working so far. I guess that dancing naked round the bonfire, in the city center is the last resort, so I am gonna try to send some good vibes through clothes, just to avoid the dance, although I am ready to go all the way to bring the sun, short dresses, warm rain  and even flowers back(which is huge, as I am allergic to every single flower on earth), so all possibilities are taken into account!
