Here's Looking Like You, Kid

How frustrated can one get while looking for the perfect trench coat? Let me tell you - very. I know it's impossible to find something thrilling and affordable at the same time, but c'mon! That's just too much. Every single piece I've tried on (and believe me, I've tried them on at Topshop, Zara, Mango and mooore) looked like it was specifically designed to make my boobs look like they were size F or to make me feel like I was a whale, while size M was only designed for little seals.
So I had enough, but that doesn't stop me from presenting you with a collection of my all time favourite coats. As it is, they were design by Christopher Bailey and that just leaves me with hope that someday, one of these beauties will be mine (erm, I'm not going to steal it, maybe kidnap Christopher, but steal the coat?! So not my style).

Jak bardzo poszukiwanie idealnego płaszczapotrafi wykończyć psychicznie? Zaraz wam powiem - ogromnie.

'60 vs '20 aka Mad Men vs Boardwalk Empire

How Mad can one Man go while ruling his Empire? lol I think I'm becoming a master in word games. Well, as you've already figured out from the title, it's time for some tv series fashion. That sounds serious and trust me - it is. The fact is that 'Mad Men' and 'Boardwalk Empire' were a breeze of fresh air in television and their connection to fashion makes it impossible not to mention both of them, but hey, let's try to keep things interesting! This is a showdown! We are choosing the winner (I mean fashion winner), so let me present contestants:

Jak widać, dzisiejszy post sponsorują seriale, a raczej ich modowy kontekst. Brzmi dość poważnie i właśnie tak być powinno.  Prawdą jest, że "Mad Men" wraz z "Boardwalk Empire" wnieśli pewną świeżość do świata telewizji, a pod kątem mody wręcz grzechem byłoby o nich nie wspomnieć, prawda? Postarajmy się więc troszkę to urozmaicić. Panie i ponowie przed wami ostateczne starcie i wyłonienie (modowego) zwycięzcy! Przedstawiam więc uczestników:

The magical trio - Betty, Peggy  and Joan. To tell you the truth, I am not a huge fan of the '60 taste, but I applaud those costume designers because everything is almost impeccable. Those three, and especially Christina Hendricks are able to pull off almost everything. Well, maybe apart from the times when Peggy is trying to be sexy. Honey, that just doesn't work for you.

Welcome to the elegant twenties. Can anyone produce better costumes? The answer is probably yeah, but I still think that someone did a hell of a job here. Well, the only thing that's killing me are those heels. But hey, it's hard to keep everything perfect, right?

Paz De La Huerta. I HAD to distinguish her. Mostly seen without clothes on in the show, so it's hard to discuss her wardrobe (not to mention find any photos), but when she's wearing something, it is almost always breathtaking. Nevertheless, it's hard to concentrate on clothes when she's opening her mouth. That sound is, unfortunately, unforgettable.

(Author's note: In real life, I am not sure what is she doing when she's on a red carpet, but it is NOT working and that is to say it in the most polite way. She looks like a drag queen on crack with too much botox injected in her lips, by the way: honey, you need help. It's like every time she's on the red carpet she's got the look 'I don't know where I am and I don't think I know anyone in here' and apparently she is allergic to bras - never seen her wearing one. But hey, I'm not judging.)

And now, ladies and gentleman, after long hours of deliberation the jury decided that the ultimate winner is...

Yeah! Hurray! I voted for it.

Seeing red.

Nowy post. Na samym początku pragnę zaznaczyć, iż NIE JESTEM psychopatką. Pomysł narodził się, gdy czytałam książkę pt.  "Dearly Devoted Dexter". Rozumiecie? Czerwony - krew? To druga książka w serii, a jeżeli chodzi o serial, to widziałam sezon 1., 5. i kilka odcinków z 4. Kto by pomyślał? Dumnie przedstawiam więc krwawo czerwone elementy ubioru:

Here it is. Let me just state at the begging that I am NOT a psychopath. This idea just occurred to me while I was reading "Dearly Devoted Dexter". Red is apparently the new black right now, and you know why the connection to Dexter, right? Get it? Blood - red? Well, that's the second book in the series and regarding the show, I've seen season 1., 5. and some episodes from series 4. I still need to see number 2. and 3., nevertheless, the tv series and the books are amazing. So to sum it up, while I was reading Dexter, I thought about all that blood and next thing I know: it's fashion related. Who would have thought that I had it in me, huh? I am proud to present some amazing, bloody red pieces:

I just had to do it. It's obvious isn't it? Hellboy vs. Hellgirl! Make your bets!

And remember: no peace for the wicked.

London, The Ice Queen, The Royal Wedding...

I've just spent an amazing weekend in London, and while there I've noticed that The Royal Wedding was so on, that I just have to mention it. And why not speculate and dream a little bit, right? While future queen is constantly stating that she WON'T be wearing an Alexander McQueen dress (I know she is insane!), it is my duty as a woman, human being and whatever else, to present her with some opportunities from Sarah Burton's latest collection, which is truly amazing! And yeah, I admit I'm doing it for myself as well. Never too much McQueen! So let's present our winners:

Would it not be wonderful if she was wearing that white  gown? I know I would want to! Are you reading this, my future husband? This is THE DRESS!

And the Oscar went to...

It's hard to imagine how much can one miss when being left for several days without the Internet. Designers are being fired, placed in mental institutions, new trends and tendencies are evoking, not to mention The Paris Fashion (Panic) Week.
Anyway, I know it's been almost a week since we came to know the Oscar winners (please clap for my personal favourite, "The King's Speech"!!), but I have to share some thoughts. Above all things,  I am very disappointed. I know the gala was stylish and everything, but most of the stars played it safe, which I found extremely boring. So here are my top dresses, and yeah, that is all that I found worthy!

Anne Hathaway - I loved the vintage Valentino and Armani Prive was unbelievable! I know Rachel Zoe did a great job, but I would have gone a step further, especially because the clothes were the only interesting thing about her and not the fact that she was one of the hosts. Maybe it was Franco's fault? I mean, he did look high, right?

1,2. Florence Welch - I love the Valentino (earlier post, duh). Welcome, the only person that made me hold my breath when I saw her.
3. Michelle Williams - she looked as she always does, but admit it, you do WANT to look at her in that Chanel dress.
4. Mila Kunis - I liked the dress, just wasn't sure it was suitable for that night, kinda gives me a prom vibe...

1. Cate Blanchett - despite the fact that she's an amazing actres,s she wore the dress that just had to happen, and she nailed it!
2. Helen Mirren - Queen Helen got it right one more time. I wasn't convinced from the start, but after seeing all the other dresses one thing was sure - she should show some of them how it's done!
3. Helena Bonham Carter - Queen Helena. What can I say, love her, love her style. Period.
4. Sunrise Coigney - The biggest surprise of all. Just flawless!

To sum it up, I am not waiting impatiently for the next year's gala, and yes, after a week's parting with my laptop, I do feel like I was in rehab (which gives me creeps).
